World’s premier ground-based observations facility advancing atmospheric research

Introducing: the Observers

Published: 19 July 2011

Posing for a photo at the ARIES Observatory in Nainital are the AMF on-site observers (left to right): Deepak Chausali, Rajan Pradhan, Shiwani Thakur, Roshan Ara; Krishan Singh (not pictured).
Here’s a long overdue introduction to a great group of young people who will help the AMF India deployment become another successful campaign! Led by AMF on-site technician Carlos Sousa, these observers have done an outstanding job launching weather balloons four times a day ever since they finished the four-day training program in mid-June. They are bright, curious, and enthusiastic to be part of such a significant scientific collaboration between India and the United States. We heartily welcome them to the team!
