MERGED-CCN

This data set contains best-estimate cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) spectra for five years of data (2009–2013) at ARM’s Southern Great Plains atmospheric observatory.

All CCN spectra span a wide water supersaturation (SSw) range, 0.0001% to ~30%, which is not measurable by CCN instrumentation alone. This product has been constructed by combining merged aerosol size distribution data (Marinescu et al. 2019) with measurements of aerosol hygroscopicity from the humidified tandem differential mobility analyzer and measured CCN distributions over a limited SSw range. Nephelometer and aerosol chemical speciation monitor data are used to resolve discrepancies between the above measurements, and as quality control measures.

The data are available at a 45-minute time resolution.
