PARSL Radar Calibration

17 June 2002 - 21 June 2002

Lead Scientist: James Mather

Observatory: SGP (Southern Great Plains)

We will bring a 35 GHz radar associated with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's(PNNL's) Atmospheric Remote Sensing Laboratory (PARSL) to operate alongside the SGP MMCR radar to calibrate the PARSL radar. While we are there, we would similarly like to check the calibration of an Infrared Thermometer (IRT). For the IRT test, we would like to operate the IRT next to the AERI and compare the IRT brightness temperature with the temperature derived from AERI data.
