B3D

BASIN-3D data integration for selected ARM data

1 February 2025 - 30 September 2025

Lead Scientist: Charuleka Varadharajan

Observatory: SDS

The B3D effort will demonstrate integration of the ARM “met” datastreams with time series data from other earth science data sources using the BASIN-3D data synthesis software tool. BASIN-3D is an open-source Python library that enables researchers to integrate data on-demand, across configured public and private data sources. Upon completion of this effort, the basin3d python library (https://github.com/BASIN-3D/basin3d; https://basin3d.readthedocs.io/) will contain an ARM plugin that allows data users to use a single BASIN-3D query to obtain ARM met data along with USGS Daily and Instantaneous Values and EPA Water Quality eXchange data that match location, variable, time period, and other filters. The resulting query results are integrated into a common format, variable names, and units.
