1998 Phoenix Air Quality Study

17 May 1998 - 9 June 1998

Lead Scientist: Peter Daum

Observatory: OSC

DOE's Atmospheric Chemistry Program (DOE/ACP) and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) conducted a field program to investigate tropospheric ozone formation in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. Measurements were made at ground sites and aboard the Department of Energy's G-1 research aircraft. The motivation was to extend the findings of the many studies that have focused on understanding ozone production in the northeastern and southeastern regions of the United States.
