Conference to Address Clouds and Precipitation in Climate Models

Published: 14 September 2015

A conference focused on understanding clouds and precipitation through highly resolved process modeling and observations is being held in Berlin from February 15 to 19, 2016. Abstracts will be accepted through mid-September and will be reviewed in early October.

The conference, hosted by the German project on High Definition Clouds and Precipitation for Advancing Climate Prediction, will bring together international organizations to address the multi-faceted issues regarding cloud and precipitation predictions in global and fine-scale models. It will also address advancements in computing technology and observations.

The five-day conference will focus on the different dimensions of high-resolution modeling approaches in four topic areas:

  • Advances in simulating clouds and precipitation
  • Advances in observing clouds and precipitation
  • Advances in parameterizing cloud and precipitation
  • Process based constraints for climate prediction.
