arcusThe Arctic Observing Open Science Meeting (AOOSM), co-chaired by Atmospheric System Research (ASR) scientist Matthew Shupe, will be held in Seattle this November. Register by Monday, October 19, 2015, 11:59pm AKDT, to attend.

The objective of this meeting is to share results on Arctic observing activities, to engage in discussions on key topics, and to strengthen linkages among the many U.S. Arctic research programs. With the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) presence in Alaska, and the numerous analyses performed by DOE-funded scientists, the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Climate Research Facility and ASR communities provide key contributions to U.S. arctic observations.

Specific contributions include long-term observations at the ARM sites in Barrow and Oliktok Point; aircraft campaigns targeting clouds, aerosols, and carbon; new activities associated with the airspace near Oliktok; linkages with the Next-Generation Ecosystem Experiments (NGEE) program; and other activities. There are many exciting and relevant sessions for DOE-sponsored research.

Detailed information on registration, abstract submission, etc., is provided on the ARCUS meeting website. For questions on registration, please contact Judy Fahnestock, ARCUS.
