Special Sensor Microwave/Imager (SSM/I)

General Data Description
The data include wind speed, water vapor, liquid water and rain rate at 0.25 deg resolution over the ocean. The data are produced by Remote Sensing Systems (RSS). The Wentz SSM/I algorithm available from 1996 to 2002 (version 4) has been updated and improved (now version 5). All available SSM/I data have been reprocessed by RSS using this new algorithm and were made public on August 21, 2002.Data Stream Names
