AMF2 Architecture
The core AMF2 instrumentation is designed to operate out of modules; small independent climate controlled systems that house instrument computers, data loggers and other support equipment. This design feature sets the AMF2 apart in its flexibility and mobility at deployment sites.
Data collection is performed via wireless communications between the module and the central data system but they are set up for traditional ethernet based communications as well. The module concept provides significant flexibility for AMF2 deployments, especially for ship or other complex deployments where space is at a premium. For land-based deployments when the total footprint is not of primary concern, the modules can be consolidated within standard operations vans.
