Commentary:

Several scientists are groggy today due to seasickness. The Ron Brown lost a "drag race" with a freighter. Several flying fish were spotted. At night the Depolarization and Aerosol Backscatter Unattented Lidar beam appears as a green light column rising into the empty sky. Tonight we embark a pilot to guide the Ron Brown through the Torres Straits, a regulation requirement. Currently, we are building an intranet system to post and share data and images. A series of informal seminars given by Nauru99 investigators begins in two days and will occur twice per week. These talks will be for both the ship's crew and the science party.
