Report from the Ron Brown: June 16, 1999
|
Commentary: There were two drills today: fire and abandon ship. The scientists began organizing internal web pages to share data and graphical output. We will change ship time from 1830 to 1900 today (the new ship time is Universal Time Coordinate [UTC]-10).
Visual Observations: Stratus was overcast with intermittent showers. Whitecaps. A dull, gray day. We were taking on light spray on all decks. Instrument Status: The S-band radar and the Depolarization and Aerosol Backscatter Unattented Lidar were both repaired and are now operating normally. The C-band radar is doing surveillance scans every 30 minutes. Previous Days' Updates: June 15, 1999June 14, 1999 June 10, 1999
