SISTeR was briefly taken down from the foremast late in the morning for some final checks and preparations. At 16:00 this afternoon it was turned on again, and a scan sequence was executed to find a clear view of the sea. The contrast in temperature between the Mirai's deck and the sea surface was a little low, but an angle from nadir of about 48 degrees will probably be the final choice. As soon as this has been confirmed, SISTeR will start to make regular IR measurements of the sea and sky.
