Bill Clements received his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Physics from Texas A & I University. He then served for four years as Assistant Professor of Physics at California Polytechnic State University. After this he continued his graduate education at New Mexico Tech where he received his Doctor of Philosophy in Physics with an emphasis in Atmospheric Physics. In 1974 Clements joined the staff the University of California's Los Alamos National Laboratory where he has worked in various atmospheric and environmental groups as a research scientist, associate group leader, project manager, and team leader. His research work has been in the areas of radon-222 as an atmospheric tracer, complex terrain meteorology, and atmospheric transport and diffusion. He has participated in or led more than 25 field studies. Clements is currently the leader of the Tropical Western Pacific team in the Atmospheric and Climate Studies Group at Los Alamos and Program Manager for the US Department of Energy's Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Program's Tropical Western Pacific Locale. |
