The Scanning-High Resolution Interferomter Sounder (S-HIS) will participate in the ARM Mixed-Phase Arctic Cloud Experiment in the Fall of 2004. From the UAV platform, the S-HIS measures the up and downwelling infrared radiance at high spectral resolution. These observations can be used for cloud radiation closure studies as well as to provide retrievals of the atmopheric state, surface, and cloud properties. This poster will present a basic introduction to the S-HIS instrument, its observing capability on the ARM UAV platform, and examples of atmospheric state, surface, and cloud property retreivals from recent deployments.

Note: This is the poster abstract presented at the meeting; an extended version was not provided by the author(s).
