Twelfth Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Science Team Meeting
Uncertainties in the bidirectional reflection coefficient of the surface is a major component of the errors in the measurements of the surface radiation budget. A new instrument will be presented that measures the spectrally resolved surface reflectivity using an interferometric imager to produce a three-dimensional data cube (two spatial dimensions and spectral wavelength). Initially designed for spacecraft applications this can be used on aircraft, helicopters and other near-surface platforms.
