Aerial Observation Needs Workshop ReportManned and unmanned aerial systems (UASs) are essential to studying and modeling atmospheric and terrestrial processes in difficult to reach environments, such as the Arctic. Experts in the atmospheric and terrestrial sciences, airborne observations, and modeling participated in a workshop in May 2015 to assess current and future aerial observation needs.

The workshop was hosted by the Earth and Environmental Systems Sciences Division (EESSD) within the Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science, with the goal of developing a strategy and roadmap of capability requirements for the next decade.

The report from the workshop is now available on the Office of Science BER website.
