Hats off to Matthew Shupe and Ann Fridlind, newly announced leaders of the Cloud Properties and Cloud Modeling Working Groups, respectively. Matthew takes over the reigns from Eugene Clothiaux, and Ann takes over for Steve Klein. DOE program directors announced the leadership changes on November 14, during the fall series of ARM Working Group meetings.

Matthew is a research scientist at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science at the University of Colorado and NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory. His expertise is in remote sensor retrievals, cloud microphysics, cloud processes, and the role of clouds in Arctic climate. Ann is a researcher at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Her research focuses on microphysical processes in cloud-resolving models, aerosol-cloud interactions, and mixed-phase clouds. Both are active members of the ARM Science Team, contributing their expertise and energy to numerous ARM research efforts. Congrats to Matthew and Ann on their new leadership roles!
