Call for Abstracts for International Arctic Change 2008 Conference

The ArcticNet Network of Centres of Excellence of Canada and its national and international partners are hosting the International Arctic Change 2008 Conference in Quebec City on 9-12 December 2008 at the Quebec City Convention Centre. Organizing at the height of International Polar Year, Arctic Change 2008 will bring together researchers, students, policy makers, and stakeholders from all fields of Arctic research to address global challenges and opportunities brought by climate change in the circum-Arctic.

Abstracts are being accepted for both oral and poster presentations online. The deadline for early registration and abstract submission is 26 September 2008. The scientific program offers 36 multidisciplinary sessions covering a wide range of Arctic research topics; a list of sessions are available for review. Suggested sessions that may be of interest to ARM participants and ARM users include:

  • Arctic Climate Feedback due to Changes in Atmospheric Composition and
    Long Range Transport of Chemical Constituents (T32)
  • Measurements and Numerical Modelling of Precipitations in Cold Climates (T35)

With over 600 participants expected to attend, Arctic Change 2008 will be the largest trans-sectoral international Arctic research conference ever held in Canada.
