Today was a sad day as Dick Eagan and Brad Orr both flew home to Chicago, IL.  Brad and Dick’s humor and experience will be missed.

The weather has been great.  It starts out a bit cool early in the morning but by mid-morning we are taking off layers as the sun is still pretty intense this time of the year.

At the Valley site, we continued to set up the sensors, and the ECOR is completely installed including the soil sensors.  The Met system is installed but the logger doesn’t have a program yet.  The GNDRAD is running but we need to check one of the sensors and update the coefficients.

The SKYRAD sensors are level and running and the tracker is level and appears to be shading well.  The MFRSR is running but still thinks it is at ANL.  The CSPHOT was taken out and installed.  It needs to be powered and set to the current latitude and longitude.  The MWR is online and the SPN1 is also running.  We leveled the PRP module and trained Durga Kaffle on how to level the PRP radiometers.  The PRP and the SPN1 are new additions to the AMF2 and will be treated like PI systems.  We hope they perform as well as ARM standard sensors as they are very useful for ship deployments.

The BBSS was turned on and updated for the current location.  We are having some trouble with the system, however, and will be working with the mentors to resolve the problem.  We hope to have it done by Monday afternoon as we were planning to train the volunteers on how to launch balloons.

We have been spending some time on site beautification and organization. Mike Turner removed one of the Vidmar cabinets in the GP van and set the printer on top of the remaining set of drawers.  This also gives us space for the RWP computer and data system while maintaining the desk space for use.

Last, but definitely not least, the AOS container headed up the mountain for Christie Peak.  It was safely placed on the cement blocks where it will reside for the remainder of the project.  The railings will go on tomorrow and we hope to get to install the mount for the radio antennae as well.
