SPRUAV
The ARM UAV program completed a very successful deployment to Oklahoma on May 6, 1996. The purpose of the campaign was to obtain data on the interaction of solar energy with clear and cloudy skies to test and develop new mathematical models of this interaction for use in climate studies. The mission's focus centered on three classes of scientific experiments: radiative fluxes, cloud properties, and satellite calibration and validation.
Activity Summary
Two aircraft, the Twin Otter and the Egrett, conducted a series of 7 data flights during a variety of atmospheric conditions ranging from solid to overcast. The flights were conducted at the ARM CART site between April 15 and May 6.
